About Us

The Alliance for Food and Farming is a non-profit organization which exists to educate and inform consumers and the media on issues of food safety and farming. As part of this effort, the Alliance regularly investigates food safety issues and, working with credible scientists and government sources, seeks to provide accurate information on a variety of topics from pesticides to microbial foodborne illness to contaminants in food.

The Alliance for Food and Farming was formed in 1989 and currently has a membership of approximately 50 agricultural groups representing a wide range of organizations including commodity boards, major farm groups and individual grower/shippers. The majority of the membership is involved in the production of fruits and vegetables throughout the U.S.

The Alliance for Food and Farming is headquartered in Watsonville, CA and is staffed by a team of communications professionals. All Alliance for Food and Farming activities are overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of leaders from the U.S. produce industry.

The Alliance can directly answer your food safety questions, provide information as well as access to agricultural experts on a host of topics. Whether you are interested in advancements in food safety production, techniques on the farm, the use of crop protection tools or the latest university research, the Alliance can find answers to your questions.
